photo by @wakerofwind double xp is a rock band with heavy influences from noise-rock, shoegaze, and emo. the band is based in LA and started by andrew tran, hannah park, aguste sharma, and trevor magaña.
[ what’s ur fav piece of media rn? ]
hannah: lately i’ve been loving going on neocities and seeing a bunch of interesting websites. two of my recent finds on there has been the funeral key card, which is kind of an artistic choose-your-own-adventure that always leads to death and then the shoegaze encyclopedia, which is just one guy’s thoughts on his shoegaze finds along with a shrine to kevin shields
[ any pedals/equipment u think is cool and unique to ur setup? or u can share ur whole pedalboard! ]
agust: the earthquaker devices afterneath is the most unique pedal in my setup and i feel like more shoegaze bands should use it. it smears your sound in a way that is its is still legible but still very atmospheric. i imagine it as a monet painting where you can tell exactly what is happening but there’s a haze over everything that adds some romance to commonplace scenes
[ do u have any early stages of any projects u would like to share and can u tell me a lil about that? ]
yeah ! here’s a band practice clip of one of our unreleased noise rock songs we recently wrote. it’s heavily influenced by early sonic youth, her new knife, autolux, and blonde redhead.

[ any funny stories or memories from creating “demo” the album? ]
andrew: my favorite memory when recording the demos was when we did the vocal takes for the screaming parts. we just ordered a ton of junk and fast food and spent a whole day just screaming into a mic. my voice was blown out for the next week after that haha
[ any last words and what u wanna promote! ]
writing songs is a very vulnerable process and being able to share that vulnerability with the world is such a scary yet deeply rewarding feeling. music is major big part of our lives so we want to thank everyone who’s supported us or took the time to listen. we have so much more to show yall <3
